About Marilyn

As a NYS Certified Master Trainer and Coach Marilyn travels across the state working with programs on social emotional competencies with children, staff and leaders. Her area of expertise is in Communication. Often referred to as the “Director Whisperer”, she works individually with directors and administrators to hone their communication skills and empower them to deliver clear messages to staff and families. Marilyn also conducts leadership trainings for directors and administrators in addition to staff trainings to meet their professional development requirements. Marilyn’s high energy trainings are always self-reflective in nature leaving participants with solid strategies to use immediately in their practice.

Marilyn owned multiple child care programs for 18 years and received the “Business of the Year” from the local Chamber of Commerce. Through her experience supervising many diverse staff, Marilyn has a passion for identifying the strengths in each individual and helping them recognize their own stumbling blocks toward success. Good communication is a beautiful dance of interpersonal skills and watching programs master those skills is exciting to witness.

As a high-demand speaker, Marilyn has presented at local, state and national conferences for both NAEYC and NAFCC. She is currently an Adjunct Professor for CUNY (City University of New York), teaching on-line graduate courses for the Children’s Program Administrator Credential. In the past, she has been invited to NYC to facilitate trainings for Bank Street College and CUNY as part of the “Pre-K for All” initiative.

Marilyn most recently was the Education Supervisor at the Child Care Resource Network in Buffalo and the Project Manager for both the (DAL) Directors as Leaders of WNY and Quality Improvement Projects. She returned to her entrepreneurial roots in 2017, opening her own Training and Consulting business – ECE Solution’s, Inc. As owner of that business she hosted the First WNY Leadership Day, one of the largest leadership conferences held in the area, attracting directors and administrators from 5 counties.
